SHARE YOUR LIFE ON THE LAKE
I have lived at Lake Macquarie for 22 years with my husband & our two teenage children. I am originally from the Central Coast & love the beaches but nothing beats living on the lake.
My family & I are blessed to live in an absolute waterfront home on Sugar Bay at Brightwaters.
We are lucky enough to have a jetty with our cruiser tied to the end, ready to board at any time. I also love the abundance of bush which surrounds the area & I love bushwalking.
? I am a Fitness trainer & teach the 6am fitness classes, which I absolutely love, at the local gym, Fitlife Health Centre. I am also a competitive bodybuilder so I start my day at 4.45am so that I can fit my own training in before my busy day starts.
Up at 4.30am to head straight to the gym to do my weight training. Then at 6am I teach a 45 min fitness class. After the class I race home to make school lunches & get kids out the door by 7.30am. Just enough time to fit in a quick protein shake before I head back to the gym to teach another 1 or 2 classes.
After that I head home again to clean up the house, make beds, get a load of washing on before running out the door again to take my to gorgeous puppies for a walk.
Back home to organise lunch for my myself & husband before heading to work at our family business, Leisure Life Village (over 55’s relocatable home village) in Toronto.
I think to be honest, I inspire myself to live my best life & by doing so I hope I can inspire others to do the same.
I hope the example I set will inspire my children to chase their dreams, work hard for what they truly want & love.
Ten years ago, I was diagnosed with breast cancer & am so grateful that I always had a positive outlook on life & even more so now. I love making the most of every single day.
My first call is always to my husband, unless of course he already knows, so in that case it would be my Mum.
I hope the example I set will inspire my children to chase their dreams, work hard for what they truly want & love.
I don’t drink coffee.
8 at Trinity is my favourite special occasion restaurant, with stunning views of lake Macquarie, along with delicious food & fine red wine. For a takeaway meal we love to grab some Indian from Punjamehs or delicious thai from Yummy thai in Morisset. The best hot chips are from Nargi’s at Bonnells Bay. Just to name a few.
I love Affirmations at the Bay at Bonnells Bay for gorgeous homeware ideas & special gifts.
Black Pepper Butchery for meat & more so for great chats with Pete, the owner.
The Hair Retreat at Wangi is run by my gorgeous & very talented friend, Lucy, who always makes me feel beautiful after a hair cut & colour.
The Breast Centre at Gateshead is very close to my heart as it is where my breast cancer surgeon works & they do incredible research & work there.
Back in 2010, the year after my bilateral breast mastectomy, I organised a group of beautiful women to walk 250km from Sydney to Newcastle along the Great North Walk trail to raise money for breast cancer research. We raised over $75,000, giving the McGraph Foundation $50,00 & The Breast Centre $25,000
I teach over 50’s Fitness classes to help our elderly stay young & I also run a walking group in our local area. Health & Fitness is very important to me & I love to motivate others to make it a priority as well.
I jump out of bed every single morning with a smile on my face.
Watching my children grow up makes me smile. Taking my dogs for walks makes me smile. Watching the sunrise from my lounge room makes me smile. Teaching my fitness classes makes me smile. Having fun with my family & friends makes me smile.
I see myself doing exactly what I am doing now. Still inspiring others to be fit & healthy. Still working on my own fitness journey to be the best version of myself & still loving life as much as I do now.
